I always try to visit Cookie Jar when I'm near the area. The food is fresh and homemade. The cakes...you MUST have a piece of cake. They're homemade fresh daily and there's a wide variety if you get there early. You'll be full after you eat your meal, so get it to go if necessary. You'll thank me later.
Really delicious down home country to the Core cookin, and enough cakes pies and muffins on display to give your eyeballs diabetes. Scenery around was fairly awesome. Just wish it had been a clearer sunnier day. All in all though, well worth it!

Great food! Good prices. Beautiful view! Comfortable seating. Friendly smiling staff. A little slow, but not significant enough to mark them down.
The only downside, is something common to most kitchens on a farm, flies. There are many flies and just like when you have eaten at a house on a farm, you will be swatting flies your entire meal. Given the farm environment, it's common in hot months. But it's an annoyance to consider. If you go in the winter, zero flies and a perfect dining experience.
Neat little place of the beaten path. Good old fashioned home cooking. Desserts are amazing. Always pretty crowded but worth the wait.
This restaurant is in a rural farm type of area. And the cooking reflects the area culture in a delicious way. The meals are all hearty portions, that tastes great. The staff are all very nice. And the variety of desserts are more than you can find most anywhere. It's like a home cooking styled restaurant and a bakery collied into this tasty result. You will leave full and a smile on your face.
There's a petting zoo here! Be sure to take the kids out back to see a variety of animals and play on an old tractor.
